DESCRIPTION:
Rolex, Swiss, doctor's pocket watch mvt in exhibition case marked "Rolex 29 World's Records," 56mm, chrome-plated base metal OF original display style case, as-made without dial, SW-SS, lever escapement, 17J, wheel satin nickel finish, s#8786 to dial plate. A wonderful piece sure to make a nice addition to one's Rolex collection, and interestingly we sold an identical example with preceding consecutive serial number in our April, 2021 auction. This movement style was used among Rolex's "Prince Imperial" doctor's watches.
CONDITION:
Mvt: NR, missing balance and hairspring, likely cannibalized to repair another watch at some point in its life, parts and overhaul needed, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, toning of plate surfaces, dial plate with micro-fine scratches and additional toning, other plates with very few micro-fine scratches; nearly mint hour and minute hands, missing subsidiary seconds-hand; case shows very little wear, some nicks and fine scratches; crown and stem missing; good glass crystals.
